Announcing My Candidacy
Experience and Vision
My political journey began in 2007 when I was elected as MLA for Charlottetown-Parkdale, a position I held for a decade, during which I also served as a Cabinet Minister in Health, Seniors, Social Services, and Education. Prior to my political career, I was an educator and Principal at Birchwood Junior High School, and I significantly contributed to local sports as Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach of the UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers.
I am passionate about Charlottetown’s future and confident that my extensive experience and dedication will make me an effective representative in Ottawa. Improving affordability is my top priority.
Addressing Local and National Issues
I believe Charlottetown, as the birthplace of Confederation, has a crucial role in shaping a new vision for Canada. Despite having more MPs per capita than anywhere else in the country, our Island’s representation has not adequately addressed local needs.
In the coming months, I will be actively engaging with Charlottetown residents to understand and discuss their concerns. When the nomination is called, I will be ready to earn the opportunity to drive positive change for Charlottetown. It’s time.

It's goals in back-to-back games for Josh Currie as the Kölner Haie fell 5-4 against a strong ERC Ingolstadt team.
With 20 points (9G,11A) in 35 games this season, the former @SsideCapitals has been one of the hottest players for Kölner as of late.

Your Voice in Government: Commited to Charlottetown
Working for You
I am committed to working very hard on your behalf, and will always rely on your views, ideas and concerns and encourage you to bring them to my attention so that I may continue to make a difference and be your voice in government.
Housing
All Canadians should have a reasonable opportunity to own their own home and access safe and affordable housing. I believe the government should work with the province and municipality to develop agreements that help low-income city residents access affordable housing.
Economy
The government must create an economic climate in which Canadians can thrive and create quality job opportunities for Canadians. I believe a dollar in the hand of a Canadian citizen is better than a dollar in the government's hand.
Health Care
The federal government should work with the province and professional medical groups in a co-operative and constructive manner to increase the supply of health care professionals where shortages exist. It is time we all worked together and solved the problems we are elected to solve.
