Big plans, and big dreams for Charlottetown

In January, I had the honour of being chosen as the Federal Conservative candidate for Charlottetown. The City where I was born; the City I love, the City that raised me.

Since then, I’ve spent the majority of my time listening to my fellow residents of the Charlottetown riding. These past few months, I‘ve engaged with various community organizations, groups and individuals. I’ve had conversations at kitchen tables, backyards and coffee shops across the city. I hear where people are struggling; and more and more I understand the many issues facing our community–our families, our youth and our seniors.

I’m proud and excited to present myself to be the next Member of Parliament in the upcoming federal election to face those issues on behalf of the people of Charlottetown. The past few months have reinforced my passion and commitment to being a strong voice in the Ottawa for my beloved hometown. I will apply all my past professional and political experience to be your Member of Parliament in Ottawa. I will also commit to applying my enthusiasm for public service; and my deep and abiding commitment to making a better life for all of the people who live here.

My tenure as provincial Health Minister gave me extensive experience and unique insight into leading bipartisan provincial and federal healthcare initiatives. As a former educator, principal and Minister of Education, I have a strong history and an enduring commitment to serving the needs of our young people. In my role currently as Vice President of Corporate Services, Strategic Development and Stakeholder Relations at Holland College, I have led a variety of innovative policy initiatives that have continued to provide countless means to education and employment for people in our city.

All of this professional experience and all of my energy and ability to successfully work across party lines will be essential as I advocate for the City of Charlottetown and its people. I’m a lifelong resident of Charlottetown; I was educated here; and it is here where I raised my strong, wise, and beautiful daughters Hallie and Casey. I love my community. I have big plans, and big dreams for Charlottetown – the City that raised me.
